CSM David Clark, U.S. Army Retired
CSM (Retired) David Clark, joined the Association of the United States Army in July 2022. He serves as the Senior NCO Leadership Chair of AUSA’s Center for Leadership.
Command Sergeant Major (Retired) David M. Clark is a retired four-star nominative level sergeant major whose service to his country has spanned 35 years. His last assignment in the United States Army was in Afghanistan as the Resolute Support/U.S. Forces - Afghanistan Command Senior Enlisted Advisor.
He has held numerous leadership positions to include battalion command sergeant major, brigade command sergeant major, 4th Infantry Division command sergeant major, and United State Military Academy command sergeant major. His areas of expertise are national security, strategy, international relations, military operations, security operations, diversity and inclusion, leadership in complex organizations, crisis leadership and building cohesive trust-based teams. He is a combat veteran of eight combat deployments and a member of several veteran service organizations throughout the country.
CSM(R.) Clark has multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy, and the Senior Leader Executive Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Troy University and a master’s in human resource management from Webster University.
His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal with “C” Device, Legion of Merit with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device and four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters.
