Dear AUSA Monmouth Chapter Members,
June 30, 2018 marked the end of AUSA’s 2017-2018 Operating Year, and what a year it was. Your AUSA Monmouth Chapter has, once again, been named the Best Chapter 2018 in our category 2 (900 to 1500 members) of 22 chapters and 124 chapters worldwide for the third consecutive year – the Trifecta. I am extremely proud and pleased to share with you what LTG (R) Patricia E. McQuistion, AUSA VP for Membership and Meetings, said in her recent Best Chapter Announcement Email: “From all of us at AUSA National Headquarters, Congratulations to all those selected as the 2018 Association of the United States Army Best Chapter in your category!...your chapters have won the coveted recognition for the tremendous results you have achieved throughout the year. We look forward to presenting this national recognition at the 2018 Annual Meeting in Washington DC during our opening ceremony on 8 October, 2018.”

In addition to the above awards, I want to specifically congratulate the Family of AUSA Monmouth Chapter member Staff Sergeant Vincent Pastore of the 254th Regiment (Combat Arms), New Jersey Army National Guard (NJANG), Sea Girt, NJ who will be presented with the 2018 AUSA Volunteer Family of the Year Award during the Opening Ceremony of the AUSA 2018 Annual Meeting & Exposition on Monday, October 8, 2018. This is a Truly Remarkable Achievement. Over a two-year period, Vincent's wife Tonya completed over 600 hours volunteering as a Girl Scout leader in elementary school activities and his three daughters, 13-year-old Angelina, 11-year-old Isabella and 8-year-old Sabrina collectively contributed over 1500 hours of volunteer service. Vincent’s activities included Backpacks for Life and he is a volunteer and participant in the Sgt Nutter 5-KM run event hosted by the NJANG Officer Candidate School.
The Monmouth Chapter has also made significant strides in membership by adding 185 Individual Members and 20 Community Partners this past year. Our current Individual Membership is now 905 with 59 Community Partners.
We worked very hard during the 2017-2018 year and I am very proud of this award. Lets do it again in 2018-2019. My very special thanks goes out to all of our AUSA Monmouth Chapter volunteers (Chapter Board Members, Community Partners and Individual Members) who unselfishly contributed their time and talents that resulted in a Top-Shelf Chapter.
I look forward to your continued support and seeing you at our upcoming Fall-Winter events: 30 Sep - Run for the Fallen, 8-10 Oct – AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition, 11 Nov – Veterans Day Golf Tournament, 1 Dec – Gingerbread Ball.
